Cold Rooibos Drinks
Cool teas for hot times
Chill out, cool down and don’t forget there’s nothing more refreshing than a tall, cold glass of Tick Tock iced rooibos tea when the temperature rises. And, as you know by now, we’ve had more than enough time – over 100 years - to perfect and refine the odd serving suggestion or two.
Half a dozen reasons for rooting for Tick Tock Rooibos
- Unlike iced tea made with traditional black and green teas, rooibos is never bitter.
- Will last in the fridge for 3 days.
- Brews comfortably in warm water so cools more quickly.
- Is caffeine free.
- Couldn’t be quicker or easier to make.

RECIPES:
Chilled-Out Tick Tock:
- 4 to 5 Tick Tock tea bags.
- 2 litres (3 ½pints) of water, boiling or warm but not from the tap.
- Honey, sugar or lemon to suit your tastes (crushed ice is optional) or for a further taste variation try adding a small handful of fresh mint leaves or a slice or two of orange.
method:
- Place the bags in ½ pint of boiled water, add the honey or sugar. Leave for 5 minutes then add 2½ pints of cold water, a glassful of ice-cubes and Bob’s your uncle!
Tick Tock Raspberry: (serves 4)
- 1 Tick Tock teabag
- 250 gm frozen raspberries
- 1 banana
- 500 ml (1 pint) cranberry juice
- Small handful of fresh mint (optional)
- Chocolate sprinkles (optional but good)
method :
- Steep the teabag in ½ cup of warm water for 10 minutes.
- Blitz all other ingredients in a liquidiser (sieve if you’re sensitive to pips!).
- Add the tea.
- Dust with chocolate sprinkles if you really want to spoil yourselves
Rum & Green Tick Tock Mint Julep
- 1 Tick Tock Rooibos Green teabag
- 50 ml good quality rum
- 1 tsp honey
- 5 sprigs of mint
- 2 tbsp sugar syrup
- 150 ml mineral water
method :
- Steep the teabag in the freshly boiled water for approximately 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients.
